Trump Warns of

Former U.S. President Donald Trump warned of "death and destruction" that could occur if prosecutors in New York issue an indictment in the case concerning the hush payment to a porn actress before the 2016 election. In a post on Truth Social, the former president criticized what he claimed to be a "false charge," warning that legal action against him could lead to nationwide violence with "catastrophic" results. Trump suggested that in such a scenario (issuing an indictment), it could only be done by someone "mentally deranged, depraved who hates the United States," referring to himself as "the faraway leading candidate" for the Republican nomination in the 2024 election. He reiterated his claim that he has committed no crime. In another post, Trump called for the removal of every law enforcement official investigating him. He wrote, "District Attorney Bragg poses a danger to our country and must be removed immediately, along with the radical lunatic Jack Smith, who is harassing and intimidating the innocent at levels we have never seen before," adding: "Letitia James, the worst Attorney General in the United States, and the District Attorney in Atlanta, Fani Willis, who is attempting to make perfect phone calls in a conspiracy to destroy America, yet presides over the most violent crime scene in America and does nothing about it."
