Egyptian Prime Minister: We Do Not Seek to Compete with Other Arab States

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized that "Cairo is witnessing the birth of a new world with new balances and a new geopolitical reality, and Egypt seeks to maintain relationships with all parties under the guidance of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi." In an interview with the Italian newspaper "Il Giornale," he noted, "We are convinced that development in Gulf countries should be viewed with admiration, and Egypt does not seek to compete with other Arab states; we are also convinced that Egypt complements itself with other Arab countries." He stated, "We understand Turkey's influence in the region, and Cairo and Ankara share historical ties, but the problems of the past period are linked to Turkey's support for the Muslim Brotherhood. The idea of manipulating religion and exploiting it to confirm a political thought or another goal is the most dangerous virus that can infect countries, and we must fight it together."
