Algeria Releases 70 Prisoners for Passing Baccalaureate Exam

Seventy prisoners who successfully passed the baccalaureate exam have been granted immediate release starting today, Sunday, under the amnesty provisions issued by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on the occasion of the Independence and Youth Days. According to a statement from the presidency, these successful inmates received a complete reduction of their sentences. Additionally, 35 other prisoners will benefit from a partial reduction of their remaining sentences. Those convicted of major crimes, including murder and espionage, are excluded from the presidential pardon.
