Broady Enjoys Major Upset at Wimbledon

British player Liam Broady has waited a long time to enjoy a win on the main court of the Wimbledon tennis tournament. He pulled off the biggest upset of the tournament so far by defeating fourth-seeded Casper Ruud after five sets. He told reporters, "The feeling is amazing because I am at the junior stage. I was second and played the Wimbledon final on court number one, I was just one set away from winning but I completely collapsed, and that has haunted me throughout my career. I think that’s one of the reasons I have been away for a long time from winning a challenger title; I lost seven consecutive challenger finals (which are a level below professional tournaments).”

He added, "It always bothered me to return and play on major courts. I never felt comfortable; I lost to Andy Murray, Milos Raonic, and Alex de Minaur, and I didn't even win a set." He continued, "I feel like I seized a personal momentum to be able to win a match on the main court at Wimbledon" after overcoming Ruud with scores of 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3, and 6-0. He said he "convinced himself to enjoy the opportunity that might not come again."
