Russian National Guard to Acquire Tanks and Heavy Weapons

Russian National Guard Chief Viktor Zolotov stated today that the guard will be equipped with heavy weapons and tanks after its units were on the verge of defending Moscow against armed rebels. Zolotov told the TASS news agency that "the fighters of the Russian private military group Wagner, who executed a short-lived rebellion last weekend, would not have been able to take Moscow even if they had reached it." He added, "It's very simple: we concentrated all our forces in Moscow," affirming that his men were prepared to fight to the death in defense of the state.
