Ukraine: Some Russian Weapons Are Made in China

A senior advisor in the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces are finding more Chinese-made components in the weapons used in the war, as Western components are declining due to sanctions. Vladislav Vlasiyuk, who advises the Chief of Staff on sanctions policies, stated, "We continue to find various electronics in the weapons we have retrieved from the battlefield." He mentioned in a video call, "The overall trend now is a decline in Western-made components, but an increase in components from a country that is not hard to guess. It is China, of course." China has repeatedly denied sending military equipment to Russia since Moscow's large-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Information collected by Ukrainian experts from the battlefield indicates the presence of Chinese components in the navigation system of Orlan drones, which previously used a Swiss system.
