With the increasing economic and living obligations starting next month, the President of the General Labor Union, Bishara Asmar, reveals through "Al-Markaziyah" that "the labor union is currently in a phase of reassessment of the urgent living developments in light of the implementation of the new customs dollar price, with expectations of starting to operate on an exchange rate based on 15,000 lira in February, which will negatively impact the living conditions of workers and employees."
Asmar confirms that "he will meet with the Ministers of Finance and Economy and Trade in the caretaker government to learn about the new fees that have arisen and the increases that have affected services, goods, food items, etc. Based on this, it will be possible to know the directions that need to be pursued."
He points out that "the upcoming meeting with economic bodies may reconsider its timing because what they offer us is not substantial, and thus we will be in a phase of reassessing everything we have proposed to address the living and social conditions. Additionally, the meeting of the index committee is postponed due to the new developments."
