"MERS Syndrome Kills Two People in Saudi Arabia"

Experts have warned of the death of two individuals after contracting the highly contagious Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). The World Health Organization reported that the two men, whose names have not been disclosed, aged 42 and 85, were diagnosed with the disease in Saudi Arabia in November 2022 and March 2023, respectively, according to "The Sun." Local health officials stated that another man, aged 83, was confirmed to have the disease in Saudi Arabia but survived. The virus, which is typically transmitted from infected animals such as camels, kills nearly 35 percent - more than a third - of those infected. The two deceased men had contact with camels and all three men had consumed raw camel milk in the days preceding the onset of symptoms. The three suffered from health conditions that exacerbated the illness.
