The Kremlin welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza today, describing it as "the first good news in a long time" in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It stated that humanitarian truces are the only way to enhance efforts toward achieving a sustainable settlement. Earlier today, the Israeli government and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza for at least four days to allow aid to enter and to release at least 50 hostages held by Hamas in exchange for the release of at least 150 Palestinians detained in Israel.
