Macron: I Will Go to Qatar to Work on a New Ceasefire in Gaza

French President Emmanuel Macron called today, Saturday, for "doubling efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip," which is once again under Israeli bombardment following the end of the truce with Hamas. During a press conference in Dubai, Macron stated, "It is very clear that the resumption of fighting in Gaza is a worrying issue and has been the focus of many discussions." He deemed that "this situation requires doubled efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire, to release all hostages still held by Hamas, to provide urgently needed assistance to the people of Gaza, and to ensure Israel's confidence in restoring its security." Macron indicated that he would be "heading to Qatar in an attempt to work on a new truce that could lead to a ceasefire."
