Iran issued a cryptic military warning to the United States on Wednesday, promising actions that will be seen "soon," following President Donald Trump's admission of responsibility for targeting nine Iranian oil tankers and threatening further attacks.
Acting Iranian Defense Minister, Brigadier General Syed Majid Ebner Reza, made a brief remark stating: "Across Iran's geography, from the depths of the earth to the heights of the sky... you will see soon."
The Iranian official did not elaborate on what this entails or the military steps Iran might take, adding to the uncertainty amid escalating tensions between the two nations.
The mention of "depths of the earth" and "heights of the sky" could imply various military capabilities, given Iran's underground facilities, missile arsenal, and drone capabilities, yet the minister offered no specific clarification.
Response Following Trump’s Threat
The Iranian statement followed Trump's comments made at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington, where he claimed US responsibility for targeting nine Iranian oil vessels.
Trump stated, "We have disabled nine of their ships... I say we are behind those attacks, and you'll see more," issuing a direct threat of continued operations against Iranian targets.
