Ukrainian President Arrives in Poland

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Poland today, Wednesday. Zelensky, who has rarely left his country since the Russian invasion, is making an official visit to Warsaw at the invitation of Polish President Andrzej Duda.

There will be extensive and long discussions not only about security issues but also about economic and political support, according to the Director of the International Policy Office at the Polish Presidency, Marcin Przydacz.

For his part, Polish President's assistant Marcin Przydacz stated, "No one would be surprised if the Ukrainian side requests more support from Poland and other foreign partners... but we must realize that we, Poland, have really done a lot." Earlier, Przydacz noted that the first shipment of MiG fighter jets had already been delivered to Ukraine.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov also wrote on Telegram, "The MiG aircraft provided by Poland will significantly enhance our defense, allowing us to secure our skies better, protect the lives of our citizens, and reduce the destruction caused by Russian attacks."

The commander of the Russian "armed forces" unit ensuring the safety of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant reported earlier today that "a Polish-made attack drone fell in the area directly next to the plant."

Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Chief Sergey Naryshkin was quoted by official news agencies as saying yesterday, "Poland wants to take control of parts of western Ukraine, and the West is encouraging Georgia to engage in military conflict with Moscow."

Poland is a neighbor of Ukraine, and the two countries share deep historical ties. Many Ukrainians fled to Poland after last year's Russian invasion.
