The UK Anti-Doping Agency announced on Tuesday that British boxer Amir Khan has been suspended from all sport for two years after a prohibited substance was found in his sample. The agency recalled that on February 19, 2022, a urine sample was collected from Khan after his match against fellow British boxer Kell Brook at the Manchester Arena, which revealed the presence of the substance Ostarine. It is worth noting that Ostarine has effects similar to testosterone and is prohibited in all sports at all times.
Khan, 36 years old and a former world champion in the welterweight division, announced his retirement last May after losing to Brook on February 19. Following the discovery of Ostarine in Khan's sample, he will not be able to return to the ring until April 2024.
