The famous clock hands of Big Ben in London briefly stopped. At one o'clock this Wednesday afternoon in London, the clock did not strike. The hands of the four clocks on the four sides of the 96-meter-high Elizabeth Tower stopped at 12:55 PM (11:55 AM GMT), resulting in the absence of the one o'clock chime. Half an hour later, the clock hands were adjusted, but they remained about five minutes slow. By 1:47 PM, the hands were moved forward again to correct the time. A spokesperson for the House of Commons stated, "We were aware that the hands of the clock in the Elizabeth Tower recorded a temporary delay this Wednesday afternoon." He added, "Clock technicians worked quickly to resolve the issue and the clock is now functioning as normal."
