The joint forces participating in the "Eastern Arrows" operation have taken control of the mountains in Wadi Jannan, one of Al-Qaeda's strongholds, just a day after seizing the strategic Al-Hajla camp in the Modia district of Abyan province in southern Yemen. The commander of the Abyan axis, Brigadier General Mukhtar Al-Nubi, stated that the forces in the "Swords of Haws" campaign have spread throughout the Jannan mountains following their incursion and control of the area, which is considered one of Al-Qaeda's strongholds. Moreover, efforts are underway to pursue the terrorist elements that fled towards the neighboring Al-Bayda province (central Yemen). Al-Nubi clarified that the joint forces continue their security operations with the aim of purging all areas, mountains, valleys, and ravines where elements of the organization, especially near the provinces of Shabwa and Al-Bayda, tend to escape.
