The cow "Mabrouka" in the village of Arimon, part of the Mahmoudia Center in Beheira Governorate, has sparked widespread debate on social media after its owner claimed that it is in its ninth month of pregnancy despite being only four months old. The villagers have sought blessings from the cow, referring to it as "the blessed cow."
In response, the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Damanhour University, Nabil Bakir, stated that the owner's claim about the cow being pregnant at nine months of age is contrary to scientific facts, which confirm that female cows reach sexual maturity at 12 months. Upon examination, it was also found that the cow has not reached sexual maturity, and the swelling observed in the area of the udder is due to a hernia caused by weakness in the abdominal muscles, resulting in the internal organs descending into the udder area and the hernia widening to a diameter of approximately 15 to 20 cm.
