Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov delivered a message to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting on Wednesday in Caracas. Lavrov stated at the beginning of the meeting with the Venezuelan president: "I would like to convey a message from President Putin. He also asked me to convey his warm wishes and greetings to you verbally," and extended an invitation to Maduro to visit Moscow. Maduro welcomed the Russian delegation, which is on a tour in Latin American countries, and affirmed his country's commitment to continuing joint work. Lavrov also met with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil and Vice President Delcy Rodriguez. The Russian Foreign Minister arrived in Brazil on Monday, the first stop on a tour during which he will visit several Latin American countries, including Brazil, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba.
