The Indian Space Agency launched a satellite for the study of black holes on Monday. According to the "International Asia News" agency, the "X-Ray Polarimeter Satellite" was launched into an orbit 350 kilometers away from an island near the main spaceport in Sriharikota, off the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. The satellite, weighing about 470 kilograms, will conduct research on X-rays emitted from around 50 celestial bodies, aided by two payloads developed by the Indian Space Research Organization and another research institute based in Bangalore.
