Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri mourned today, Saturday, the death of Palestinian Legislative Council President Ahmed Bahr, who was killed due to the ongoing Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip. In a statement of condolence, Berri said, "On my personal behalf and on behalf of the Lebanese parliament, we extend our deepest condolences to the martyr's family and to all parliamentary forums, organizations, and unions, both Arab and international. We place this crime alongside other massacres committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, under the observation of all free people of the world and their representatives in parliaments and advisory councils. Is there anyone to deter Israel from stopping its extermination machine and killings?" Berri concluded, "We lose Ahmed Bahr as a respected parliamentarian... and Palestine gains him as a martyr in the struggle for the Palestinian dream of liberation and return."
