The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the global ranking of national teams for September after the conclusion of the international break. The Russian national team improved its position on the international team ranking by two spots since the last ranking published in August of this year, reaching 33rd place. However, the exclusion of Russian teams from international tournaments remains enforced by FIFA, which deprived the "Russian Bear" of the opportunity to participate in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Egyptian national team also moved up in the FIFA ranking, reaching 39th place. Egypt ranks fourth among Arab countries, behind Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria, and is positioned sixth in Africa, behind Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Nigeria, and Algeria. Brazil maintained its lead in the global ranking, followed by Belgium, Argentina, France, and England. Italy surpassed Spain and reached sixth place, while the Netherlands is eighth, followed by Portugal and Denmark. Germany continues to be outside the top ten, holding the 11th position.
Azerbaijan recorded the best advancement in the ranking, jumping five places to 123rd. Meanwhile, Norway saw the most significant decline, dropping six places simultaneously to rank 42nd globally.
