Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamieh stated today, Thursday, that "for the first time since 2020, the port activities at Beirut Port are very active on its quays, with standard efficient handling procedures." He wrote on his official Twitter account: "The photo from today, Thursday, July 13, 2023, shows three giant ships docking at berth number 16 simultaneously, loaded with approximately 8,000 containers that will all be handled within just 30 hours."
