Lebanese Forces Party President Sami Gemayel confirmed that "Lebanon is in the grip of an armed militia that has disrupted its institutions and abolished democratic rules, executing a described coup to control the country." During his meeting with the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Fronczak, on Thursday, Gemayel explained that "Hezbollah and its allies are working to buy time while waiting for a shift in the balance of power to impose their candidate for the presidency and complete their control of the country," emphasizing the necessity for the other team to abandon its imposition approach and engage with the efforts of the opposition to overcome the deadlock. The two sides discussed presidential elections and calls for dialogue, in the presence of Political Bureau member Alan Hakim and the party's head of external relations, Marwan Abdullah.
