French Court: "Lafarge" May Be Accused of Complicity in "Crimes Against Humanity"

Today, the highest court in France rejected a request by the French cement company "Lafarge" to dismiss charges of complicity in "crimes against humanity," related to how it continued to operate its factory in Syria after the outbreak of conflict in 2011. The ruling, which upheld a previous decision, means that the criminal investigation opened in 2017 can continue to examine the company's criminal responsibility based on accusations of committing "crimes against humanity."
