Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan indicated today, Tuesday, that "Houthi attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea are linked to the war in Gaza," emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire there. Prince Faisal bin Farhan stated: "Our priority is to reduce escalations, stop the firing, and alleviate the suffering of civilians in Gaza."
He continued on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos that the Kingdom's priority is to find a way to de-escalate the situation through a ceasefire in Gaza. He pointed out that "the Kingdom may recognize Israel if the Palestinian crisis is resolved." In response to a question about whether the Kingdom could recognize Israel within a broader agreement after resolving the Palestinian conflict, he said, "Certainly."
