Drone Strike Targets U.S. Base in Iraq

The counter-terrorism unit in the Kurdistan region of Iraq reported in a statement that "the Kharir Air Base in Iraq, which hosts American and international forces, was targeted by a drone strike today, Friday." The statement did not clarify whether the attack resulted in any casualties, injuries, or infrastructure damage. Earlier, Iraqi factions warned in a statement distributed via their channel on the Telegram app that Washington should expect intensified attacks on U.S. bases in Syria and Iraq, in light of the war being waged by the Israeli army against Gaza and the American support received by Israel.
