Sullivan Discussed Israel's Shift to "Lower Intensity" Operations in Gaza

The White House announced that U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke with Israeli officials during a visit to Israel today, Thursday, regarding the potential transition from high-intensity military operations to "lower intensity" military operations in Gaza. White House spokesman John Kirby stated at a press conference that Sullivan discussed a possible transition "in the near future," but added, "I don't want to put a timeline on it." Additionally, Jake Sullivan mentioned that governance of the West Bank and Gaza Strip "needs to be connected under a Palestinian authority that has undergone reform and strengthening." An American official indicated that Sullivan will visit Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah tomorrow, Friday.
