Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today, Saturday, that "if Hezbollah expands the confrontation, we will strike them in ways they and Iran cannot imagine." He stated, "We operate against Iran all the time and everywhere, and everyone knows that the threat from Tehran will increase if it acquires nuclear weapons." He emphasized, "We will continue the war in Gaza until we achieve victory," noting that "Israeli forces are deepening their operations in the southern and central regions of the Gaza Strip, above ground and below, and are killing the terrorists." He remarked, "We will eliminate Hamas leaders." He added, "We have achieved significant victories and are paying high prices, and victory requires more time, and the fighting will continue for months." Netanyahu pointed out that "the Philadelphi Corridor on the Gaza-Egypt border should be under Israeli control." He said, "The Philadelphi Corridor, or more accurately the southern point of stoppage in Gaza, must be under our control. It must be closed. It is clear that any other arrangement will not ensure the disarmament we seek."
