Security sources reported today, Friday, that during a raid to apprehend a suspect involved in a robbery in the Ramlet al-Baida area on Thursday, in the Leylaki neighborhood of southern Beirut, the security patrol and its personnel were targeted by a bomb followed by a barrage of gunfire. However, the patrol returned fire and withdrew with the suspect. The information indicated that "the criminal is wanted on several arrest warrants, and orders have been issued to apprehend him despite the risks of entering the neighborhood where he resides."
The Ramlet al-Baida area experienced a state of panic and terror yesterday due to an armed robbery incident in broad daylight that involved random gunfire.
