Discussions for Enhancing Cooperation Between the Ports of Beirut and Marseille

The Minister of Public Works and Transport in the caretaker government, Dr. Ali Hamiyeh, held a meeting at the Port of Beirut with an official French delegation that included the former minister and president of the Provence-Alps-Côte d'Azur region, Renaud Muselier, and the director general of the Port of Marseille, Hervé Martel, accompanied by a large delegation from the Provence-Alps-Côte d'Azur region. The meeting was also attended by Omar Aytani, the director general of the temporary committee for managing and operating the Port of Beirut, and a delegation from the French embassy in Lebanon led by the head of the economic section, François Spurier.

Minister Hamiyeh welcomed the French delegation, noting that the Port of Beirut, along with other facilities under the ministry, is ready to enhance cooperation with all friendly nations' ports worldwide, aimed at improving operations and services. He highlighted the importance of fostering cooperation between the ports of Beirut and Marseille and utilizing French expertise in the fields of port operations and maritime transport.

After the meeting, the French delegation, accompanied by Aytani, toured various areas of the port.
