IMF: Future Prospects for the Algerian Economy are Favorable but Inflation is High

The International Monetary Fund announced in a statement on Thursday, following the conclusion of its visit to Algeria, that the prospects for the Algerian economy in the short term are favorable, but inflation remains high. The report added that "medium-term economic prospects will depend on reforms aimed at diversifying the economy and enhancing inclusive growth driven by the private sector, along with job creation." It continued, "Continued high inflation, fluctuations in fuel prices, and exposure to climate change are among the main risks."
