U.S. President Joe Biden spoke at the White House about how his "father" survived the Hamas attack on Gaza border settlements on October 7. While congratulating Jewish people for the Hanukkah holiday, Biden said, "After October 7, my father returned to his kibbutz (agricultural settlement) to save what was left of his home." The 81-year-old Biden was recounting the story of a man who lost his son in the Hamas attack and incorrectly referred to the man as "my father," losing the third-person perspective in his speech. This was clearly one of his repeated slips of the tongue, often attributed to misreading or incorrect text displayed before him. It is worth noting that Biden’s father passed away 21 years ago in 2002.
