Title: Tebboune: Algeria's Stance on Western Sahara is Not Out of Hatred for Moroccan Brothers

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune stated that the Western Sahara issue is a decolonization case and that Algeria's position on it is not rooted in hatred towards Moroccan brothers. In his address to the nation before the two chambers of parliament on Monday, Tebboune noted that "the Western Sahara file is on the table of the UN Decolonization Committee." He added, "We will play our role in the Security Council for the benefit of our brothers and for the benefit of the Arab nation, and there is almost a consensus for Algeria to hold a non-permanent position in the Security Council." It is worth mentioning that the Western Sahara issue has been a deep point of contention between Algeria and Rabat for decades, with Morocco proposing to grant it autonomy under its sovereignty, while the Polisario Front demands a referendum on its self-determination.
