The UAE announced today, Saturday, that it has reached a trade agreement with Colombia, describing it as the first bilateral agreement of its kind between the Gulf region and South America. UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani Al-Zeyoudi, stated on the X platform: "The UAE and Colombia have completed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement, which is the first of its kind between two countries in the Gulf and South America." He added: "This partnership ushers in a new era of constructive cooperation and mutual economic growth, as well as establishing a promising platform for building trade and investment partnerships between the business communities of both countries." Al-Zeyoudi did not provide further details about the agreement.
