The governor of the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Donetsk region, Vadym Vilashkin, reported that a Russian missile strike killed 11 people today, Saturday, in the city of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine. Vilashkin wrote on Telegram, "11 dead, including five children. This is the result so far of the strikes on the Pokrovsk region." He mentioned that S-300 missiles were used in a series of Russian attacks, with the main strike targeting the town of Pokrovsk and nearby villages. He added that the attack demonstrates that Russian forces "are trying to create as much sorrow in our land as possible." Pokrovsk is located in a Ukrainian-controlled area about 80 kilometers northwest of Donetsk. Rescue operations are underway in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, and Pokrovsky District following the missile strike. Necessary rescue forces and equipment from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are engaged in clearing the rubble.
