The Syrian Minister of Tourism, Muhammad Rami Martini, announced that the number of Iraqi visitors reached 44,000 in the first month of the current year, compared to 11,000 in January of last year. Martini attributed the increase in Iraqi visitors to the "decision to facilitate their entry into Syrian territory."
