Antonio Candreva scored a stunning goal to give Salernitana the lead in the 29th minute with a powerful shot into the top corner from outside the box, marking his fifth goal of the season. It seemed the visiting team would finish the first half ahead, but Napoli earned a penalty in stoppage time of the first half, converted successfully by Matteo Politano. Rahmani then scored in the sixth minute of stoppage time to snatch victory for the home side.
Napoli moved up to sixth place with 31 points, while Salernitana remained in last place with 12 points.
