Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that his country's forces are facing a very difficult situation in the city of Bakhmut, located in the east, but Kyiv will make "proportional" decisions to protect it if there is a risk of being fully encircled by Russian forces. In a joint press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw, he stated, "Ukrainian forces advance slightly at times in Bakhmut but are quickly forced to retreat by Russian forces." He noted, "We are still in Bakhmut, and the enemy does not control it." Zelensky emphasized that the most important thing is not to lose our soldiers and certainly if the situation escalates further, and there is a risk of losing our soldiers due to the siege, the military leaders there will make the right proportional decisions.
