The Al-Ansar and Al-Najma clubs are preparing to face each other this evening, Sunday, at the Fouad Chehab Stadium in Jounieh, as part of the ninth round of the top six clubs in the first division league. Al-Najma's chances have decreased significantly, distancing itself from the competition for the title, as it still has 28 points after Al-Ahed achieved an important victory against Shabab Al-Sahel with a score of 2-0 in the match held yesterday at the Fouad Chehab Stadium.
Al-Najma Sports Club announced that all tickets allocated for its fans for today's match against Al-Ansar have sold out. Al-Ansar, on the other hand, suffered a significant blow ahead of today's match, announcing that its star player Ali Tannish is injured.
In a statement, Al-Ansar said: "Al-Ansar Sports Club announces that its player Ali Tannish (El-Sisi) has suffered a tear in his left leg, which will keep him out of the derby match against Al-Najma, with hopes for his return in the last league match against Al-Ahed."
The Lebanese Football Association has decided to enlist a foreign refereeing team to manage the summit match between Al-Ansar and Al-Najma, according to the Koura sports website.
