Borussia Monchengladbach, a club competing in the German Bundesliga, has announced the appointment of Gerardo Siuani, the former coach of Bayer Leverkusen. Monchengladbach parted ways with coach Daniel Farke after one season, finishing in tenth place, seven points shy of European qualification spots.
Siuani, 44 years old, has signed a three-year contract with Monchengladbach. He was in charge of Leverkusen from July 2021 to October 2022 and previously managed Young Boys in his home country of Switzerland, where he won three consecutive league titles as well as one cup title.
Roland Virkus, the sporting director at Monchengladbach, stated, "Siuani has achieved success with several clubs in recent years. He is a young coach but has substantial experience," noting that "he plays the way we want to see at our club. We are pleased to have him take on the responsibility."
