British Army: "Possible Explosion and Drone Activity" in the Bab al-Mandab Strait

British Army:

The British Army announced on Sunday that a "possible explosion" occurred along a major shipping route in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen. The British Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) revealed it had received reports of drone activity and a possible explosion in the Bab al-Mandab Strait in the Red Sea. The agency noted that the drone activity originated from Yemen and urged nearby vessels to exercise caution.

This incident is the latest in a series of attacks in the regional waters of the Middle East since the outbreak of war between Israel and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas on October 7. Last month, the Houthis, who control Yemen's Red Sea coast, seized a cargo ship linked to Israel. The Houthis have previously launched ballistic missiles and armed drones toward Israel and have vowed to target more Israeli vessels.
