Discovery of 6 Decayed Bodies of African Migrants on Al-Khawkhah Shores

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior announced that the security forces in Al-Khawkhah Directorate, part of Al-Hudaydah province in western Yemen, found 6 bodies washed up on the shores of the directorate belonging to migrants from the Horn of Africa whose boat sank at sea. The Yemeni Ministry of Interior, in a statement published by its security media last Thursday evening, reported that the Al-Khawkhah police stated, "The six bodies washed ashore were decayed at the time of discovery."

It was clarified that two bodies were found on the Al-Himah coast, two others on the Al-Wa’rah coast, one body on the Abu Zahra coast, and another on the Al-Qatayya coast. The ministry noted that it had informed all relevant authorities, which instructed that the bodies be buried due to their decayed state after the necessary procedures were completed in such cases. Yemen's shores are witnessing repeated drowning incidents involving African migrants attempting to reach Yemen.
