Hamas Confirms Death of Youngest Captive in Israeli Airstrike; Tel Aviv Investigates

The family of the smallest Israeli hostage held in Gaza, 10-month-old Kfir Bibas, confirmed today that they have been informed of Hamas reports regarding the death of the infant, his older brother, and their mother. However, they are awaiting official notification from Israeli authorities. The Hostages and Missing Forum stated, "Our family has learned of Hamas's recent claims." They added, "We await confirmation of the information and hope it will be refuted by military officials."

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced in a statement on Wednesday that 10-month-old Kfir Bibas, his 4-year-old brother Ariel, and their mother, Shiri Silverman Bibas, were killed in a previous Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the Israeli military said it is investigating the claims made by Al-Qassam. In its statement, it noted that they are "verifying the accuracy of the information," emphasizing that "Hamas jeopardizes the lives of all hostages in Gaza, including 9 children, and is responsible for their safety."
