The Directorate of Guidance, Army Command, announced that in the framework of continuing the pursuit of those involved in the kidnapping of Saudi citizen Mishari Turki Al-Mutairi on May 28, 2023, a special group from the intelligence directorate managed to arrest the wanted individual (J.J.) in the Bekaa region. He is responsible for planning and managing the kidnapping operation and played a crucial role by providing a hideout, weaponry, masks, and a stolen vehicle, as well as directing the gang members on the ground.
Simultaneously with the previous arrest, the directorate executed a carefully planned ambush in the town of Dhbayeh - Shouf and successfully apprehended citizen (A.H.), who is a member of the armed gang that pursued the kidnapped person and forced him to stop, then took him to Bekaa.
Investigation has commenced with the arrested individuals under the supervision of the relevant judiciary, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the gang. The directorate indicated that during the arrest of the wanted individual (J.J.), an exchange of gunfire occurred between the unit and the kidnapping gang while a citizen happened to be passing in the area and was injured by a gunshot. A military force was deployed to transport him to a hospital for treatment.
