Khris Middleton contributed 13 points and also recorded eight assists for the winning team, achieving coach Doc Rivers' first victory with the team after two losses. Luka Dončić was the leading scorer for the Mavericks with 40 points, along with nine rebounds and 11 assists; teammate Maxi Kleber added 21 points. The Mavericks played the game without star Kyrie Irving, who is injured in one of his fingers. In another matchup, Austin Reaves scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to help his team, the Los Angeles Lakers, secure a 113-105 victory over the New York Knicks on the road. Reaves finished the game with 22 points, leading his team to their second consecutive win against an Eastern Conference team following their 114-105 victory over the Boston Celtics last Thursday.
