Informed sources revealed to "Al-Diyar" yesterday that "contacts and meetings have taken place away from the spotlight in the past 48 hours as part of the preparation for the official Lebanese response to the French paper, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will deliver to the French side." The sources added that "consultations were held between the Saray, Ain al-Tineh, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this purpose, and they will continue in the coming days." A political source familiar with the matter told "Al-Diyar" that "regardless of the many observations and reservations regarding what was mentioned in the French paper, the reality is that separating what is happening in the South and the war in Gaza is impossible, and stopping this war is the way to restore calm on the southern Lebanese front." Regarding whether there is a disagreement between Paris and Washington on this issue, the source said, "According to available information, there is no disagreement regarding the content of the paper, and the American proposal is almost identical to the French one. However, there seems to be a divergence between the two sides in how to approach the situation at this time."
