Dubai Government Urges Citizens to Stay Home Until Sunday

The Dubai Government Media Office urged citizens to adhere to various measures in light of the expected low-pressure system affecting the UAE. The office warned in a post on its X platform that due to the anticipated impact of a severe unstable weather condition from the evening of Friday, March 8, to the afternoon of Sunday, March 10, with heavy rainfall, thunder, lightning, hail, and potential flooding that could result in water accumulation, flash floods, dam overflow, strong winds, reduced visibility, and the risk of flying debris.

The Integrated Transport Center of the Department of Municipalities and Transport announced that all vehicle tunnels within Al Ain city and some underpasses on external roads will be closed starting from 10 PM on Friday, to anticipate water accumulation and ensure traffic safety.

The Municipality of Al Ain has increased its readiness to handle the expected weather conditions and instructed construction companies to halt all work at sites during the low-pressure system.

Additionally, the National Center of Meteorology announced its assessment of the expected weather conditions during the period from Friday, March 8, to Sunday, March 10.
