Arrest of Armed Robbery Gang in Nabatieh

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of members of a gang that carried out numerous robbery and armed theft operations in the south and Nabatieh. As a result of extensive investigations and research, the department identified the members of the robbery and theft gang, namely: A. A. (born 2004, Lebanese) with a criminal record for theft and robbery; Sh. (born 2006, Syrian); H. I. (born 2006, Lebanese); and A. D. (born 2003, Lebanese).

On 20-9-2023, after careful monitoring and surveillance, information division patrols executed ambushes and raids that resulted in their arrest in the town of Dweir. During the search of the fourth individual's house, two war pistols, ammunition, a knife, and a cleaver were seized, along with six stolen motorcycles.

During the interrogation, they confessed to forming a gang that executed several armed robbery and theft operations in the south and Nabatieh, the latest being the theft of a motorcycle in Sidon and a armed robbery with gunfire at a fuel station in the town of Marwaniyeh-Sidon. They added that after carrying out their operations, they hid in the house of the last member in Dweir and also confessed to drug use. Additionally, H. I. mentioned trading in various types of firearms and firing in several areas of Beirut and Mount Lebanon.

Legal action was taken against them, and they were referred along with the seized items to the relevant authority based on judicial referral.
