The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement today, Friday: "As part of efforts to combat drug trafficking and distribution across Lebanon by the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces, information was received regarding an individual distributing drugs in the Mount Lebanon area. On January 29, 2024, after monitoring and surveillance, a unit from this group set a well-planned ambush in the Al-Jadida area, where they were able to arrest him in the act while he was promoting drugs. The individual is: A.D. (born in 1993, Lebanese). Upon searching him, a quantity of cocaine divided into 36 envelopes, prepared for distribution, was found in his possession, along with a mobile phone and cash amounting to $890 and 4,367,000 Lebanese pounds. He was handed over along with the seized items to the relevant authorities for further investigation, as per the instructions of the competent judiciary."
