UEFA Executive Committee to Include At Least Two Women

The Executive Committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) will include at least two women today, Thursday, following the ratification of an amendment to the union's regulations at its conference in Paris. In a press conference, Ceferin stated, "By the way, if you didn't know, we have also added a women's position, and the amendment to the regulations also pertains to the women's position." He added, "Now, I will make a suggestion to you, perhaps because I see all these men here, you should think about gender equality, as sports journalists too; I don't see many articles on that." The announcement by Alexander Ceferin that he would not run for re-election as UEFA president in 2027 was the highlight of the conference, which ratified all proposed amendments to UEFA's regulations. This included a provision for the presence of at least two women on the UEFA Executive Committee.
