The President of South Africa, commenting on the International Court of Justice's ruling today, expects Israel to adhere to the court's decision. He stated, "The decisions of the International Court of Justice today are a triumph for justice, as they have proven that we were right to file a complaint against Israel." He continued, "Israel must take measures to stop incitement to genocide and allow essential services to reach Gaza. The court's ruling is binding on Israel and must be respected by all members of the Genocide Convention."
He noted, "Since October, the Palestinians have been victims of continuous bombardment, during which Israel has destroyed neighborhoods, schools, and hospitals. The latter stands today before the international community, and its crimes against the Palestinians are clear." He emphasized that his country would not retreat from the ideals of truth and justice and that he does not want genocide to be perpetrated against other peoples. He pointed out that the International Court of Justice's ruling today represents a precedent in the international community's efforts to achieve justice in Gaza.
